Retro gaming theme nights
NES, Amiga, Commodore 64, Sega Mega Drive — monthly theme nights where we play, tell stories and reminisce together. From RGH's collection we bring out a legend for each night.
Poem III brings Taruma's gaming activities under one roof: LAN nights, tournaments, board game tables and retro gaming treasures. Gaming is storytelling: every cartridge, floppy disk and console carries the spirit of its own era — and in Taruma, these stories find a new audience.
In partnership with Retro Game House, opening in Kuhmo, we bring gaming history from generation to generation.
Retro Game House is a collection of over 12,000 titles of games, gaming consoles and retro computers located in Kuhmo and Kuopio. According to unofficial rankings, the collection is the fourth largest in the world — and it opens its doors to the public in late 2027.
For Taruma, RGH is more than an exhibition: it's a tribe that shares the same passion for gaming history, physical media and the stories that no digital distribution channel can capture.
I got the feeling that games lost their soul when I could no longer handle physical game media or admire beautiful cover art and manuals.— Mika Hoffren, Retro Game House
"Lightning struck as if from a clear sky in 1977 when I got a Conic brand video game device as a Christmas gift," Mika says. As the antenna cable sang Pong in the evening glow, a new fascinating world opened up — and from there began a journey that still continues.
The games and devices collected over the years found their place: Retro Game House was born from the passion to preserve gaming history, whose stories and objects are treasures in their own way.
